RV Camping at IMS — What You Need to Know
Indianapolis Motor Speedway has infield and perimeter camping options that put you right in the middle of the race atmosphere. The catch — and it's an important one — is that IMS camping has no shore power. No electrical hookups at all.
That means you need a generator. It's not optional if you want AC, refrigeration, lights, or any appliances.
We've got you covered. Our generator add-on is available for $40/day and it handles everything you need to run the RV comfortably. We'll make sure it's fueled and ready when we deliver.

Our 2025 Jayco Jayflight SLX 260BH fits the IMS camping areas well. Here's what comes with your delivery:
- RV delivered and set up at your IMS camping spot before you arrive
- Generator (add-on, $40/day) — fully fueled
- Full kitchen stocked with dishes, cookware, and basics
- Bedding and linens for all sleeping areas (sleeps up to 9)
- Outdoor chairs and mat for your race-day setup
- Pickup after the event

Why the Sonsio Grand Prix Is Worth Your Time
The INDYCAR Series doesn't get enough love from casual motorsports fans who fixate on the 500. But the Sonsio Grand Prix is a full NTT INDYCAR Series points race run on the IMS road course — a challenging technical circuit that runs through the infield and uses the famous main straightaway.
Road course racing is a completely different animal than the oval. You'll see braking zones, trail braking, chicanes, elevation changes. The cars look different going through corners. And the smaller crowd means you can actually move around the facility and find great vantage points throughout the day.
Two days of racing. Practice, qualifying, race day. If you're a motorsports fan, this is a serious weekend.
